The biggest difference between a professional photo and an amateur photo is that the professional photos are edited thoughtfully, and the amateur photos are not edited at all. Or what´s even worse, the editing settings are just a random selection of adjustments without understanding why you do certain things. This creates a variety of different-looking photos, clutter, and frustration.
Create recognizable photos.
No one can know the photo is yours if they aren´t unique and telling your story. Through editing, you can emphasize the unique features of your photography style because colors and light have endless potential to showcase different atmospheres. Make your photos muted and calm, vibrant and bright, or maybe dark and moody. Whatever your style is, editing is the key to achieving these different looks. All you need to do is edit your soulful photos, and your style becomes recognizable.
Convey an emotion with your photos.
First of all, you want to convey an emotion because it draws attention and connects you with your people. With my Soulful photos methods, you can convey an emotion in various ways. I introduce these methods at my Soulful Brand Photos course. Colors and light play the most important role in conveying emotions, and this is what editing highlights. The magic comes from the editing, and there is no shortcut. You need to edit to convey the emotion loud and clear.
Get reactions and find your people.
Cameras capture photos very greyish and flat. If you post that photo, it doesn´t get much reaction because it doesn´t draw attention. The storytelling that is done through contrast and color is what makes people stop scrolling. You need to paint your unique layer of colors and light on top of each photo you post. Think of it as painting a layer of your final magic before you release your work out to the world.

My photography journey started years ago with a desire to capture beautiful things around me. The problem was that I didn´t know how to do it. I studied photography on my own and attended courses because I thought that way I would find my style and get tools to capture beautiful photos. I learned plenty of technical skills on how to use my camera, how a composition is made, and how the light behaves. There I was, all this knowledge in my head, but still feeling lost. I tried to study hard every little detail in photography but ended up feeling more overwhelmed than I was before starting. Now, when I look back, I realize how I did everything wrong. There is no need to study hours of photography to capture stunning photos. All I need to know is my unique story and the soul of what I do. Instead of spending time to learn all kinds of photo tips, a few very important things on how the soul is being captured were enough. It took me nearly ten years to learn these simple methods to tell my story through photos. Now, there is no turning back. Photographing soulful photos changed the way how I work, and this is all I want to do. I work with stories and emotions to evoke feelings and touch the viewer´s heart. I can´t think of a better way to capture the beauty around me than this.
